We appreciate everything you both do for Woodend
Mark Paterson – Congratulations go to Mark Paterson who was awarded a Community Service Award from the Waimakriri District Council. Mark is a well-known community stalwart in Woodend and Waikuku. Mark has had a lifelong involvement with Woodend Rugby including being President for nine years. His interest in rugby led him on to the Gladstone Park Advisory Group developing this important recreational resource. Mark was also on the Ashley-Eyre Advisory Group and now chairs the Woodend Community Association.
Mark is best summed up in his entry on the Woodend Community Association website, when he writes about himself and his wife, Rachael: “We both feel that it is important to give back to the community in which we love living. The only way to get things done is if like-minded people come together and work towards common goals which benefit all.”
John Archer – is a true Waimakariri man most well-known for his work in the Woodend community.
