Woodend Beach Area Project
The Woodend Beach Area Project (“Project”) is to make improvements to the Woodend Beach area to provide facilities to complement and enhance the existing activities and natural beauty offered in the area today. It is proposed to update the playground, add more picnic tables, add bbq areas, add cycle racks and to refurbish the toilet block including the outdoor shower area. WCA have put the proposal to the Tuhaitara Trust and the Waimakariri District Council who both support the Project. A concept plan for the area will be drafted with the Council and the WCA will then seek funding in order to implement the plan. Project updates will be made as the work progresses.

Jill Creamer Trail
Successfully completed and opened the Jill Creamer trail from Woodend to Woodend Beach. Special thanks to the community donations received, along with the funding from our generous funding providers.

- WCA submission to the WDC on the walking and cycling strategy, including request to have a walk/cycle way from Woodend to Pine Acres to link Woodend to Kaiapoi and further to Christchurch. November 2016.
ACHIEVEMENTS
- Speed limits have been reduced from 100kmph to 80kmph on Woodend Beach Road, from 100kmph to 60kmph on Sandhill Road, Fullers Road, Jelfs Road, Copper Beech Road and Evergreen Terrace.
